About me

I worked at the Globe-Democrat from 1978 (the Newhouse era) to 1986 (the Gluck regime) on the Illinois desk, copy desk, news desk and city desk. Eventually I became news editor of the Globe, and I was news editor of the short-lived St. Louis Evening News as well.

I now live in Augusta, Ga., where I am an Internet strategist for Morris Communications, which owns newspapers, radio stations, magazines and other media throughout the United States and in Europe.

I am married to the former Diane Eaton, who worked in circ and composing under the Gluck regime.

I built globedemocrat.com, so if you have anything you'd like to see posted here, contact me by using the "contact" tab or via email: steve@yelvington.com.
