The St. Louis Globe-Democrat
The Globe-Democrat was St. Louis' daily "Good Morning" up until 1986, when it ran out of money and closed. If you worked at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat or just read the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, you're welcome to leave a note here.
If you have any photos or scannable Globe-Democrat memorabilia, create an account and upload the images to your own gallery. Any problems? Email me using the contact form.
reunion booklet
I think I posted this in the wrong spot to start; sorry if you had to read it twice. I loved the reunion booklet. I didn't make the reunion (cataract surgery -- can you believe it? A kid like me?), but I laughed myself silly reading Mike Montgomery's bio. Thanks to all the wonderful people who helped put the booklet together. One bio I couldn't find was Candy ??? -- and now I can't remember Candy's last name. She was a copy editor at the Globe, too, and she always made me laugh and feel good, especially the day I surprised her outside the outhouse in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I thought the lady I saw go into the outhouse was Candy, so I went up, pounded on the door, and whined, "Hurry up! I gotta pee!" Sure glad it turned out to be Candy. Does anyone know what's become of her?
reunion
I also want to thank the reunion organizers. It was a tremendous occasion. Bravo! It was wonderful seeing so many faces I hadn't seen in 20 years. And thanks Steve for this web site. Hopefully, this will enable all of us to stay in touch.

reunion
More thanks for the organizing committee. This was a great event, and terrific fun. Let's all stay in touch.

Picture editor 1977-1984
P.S. Jerry Berger, where were you?
Berger
Jerry sent word just before the reunion that he had sinusitis or the flu or something and didn't think it advisable to attend. He sent greetings to all. Martin Duggan also was missing. He had just had a procedure made necessary by a slipped disc and was doubtful he could make it, though he was allowed to go home the same day. He also conveyed greetings and good wishes.
reunion
I went to the reunion and it was just great to see all the folks I knew from my short time there from 1984-86...and a chance to meet some of the pre-1984 legends...there were several who left the Globe before and after 1984 who stayed in journalism, but also many who went into communications, some who started their own consulting shops....thanks to Lucyann, Susan, Margaret, and Marsha for pulling it off....
